Blackjack is a table based card game with a long and interesting history. The game itself has been around or rather in existence for the better part of the last two centuries, at least at any rate by the name it is more commonly known by which is twenty one. Many people are of the opinion that the game in concept at least, has been in existence since the Roman Empire.
Blackjack is the term given to the game, often played at 7Sultan, during its popularization in the Americas during the eighteenth century. In France, where the modern version originated, and also in Spain it was known as ving-et-un in French and as ventiuna in Spanish. There is of course a very good reason why it is known as twenty one in English or its French and Spanish derivatives.
The Object Of Blackjack
Ever since the game was first played in Europe its popularity was undeniable. In fact today the game has never been more popular. There are many reasons why this game is so popular, for one it has similarities with poker but is much easier to understand and play, it is also a lot of fun and players can win a lot of money from it in a fairly short space of time. The way that blackjack works is based on a dealer against player platform, unlike poker in which players play against each other. Both blackjack and poker use the same type of cards but for different reasons and with different outcomes. Blackjack uses the value of the cards in various combinations; the object of the combinations is for either the players or the dealer to achieve the total of twenty one.
In blackjack the card values are as follows; any ace is valued at one or eleven, a player can decide this value based on the value of their second card. All cards with kings, queens and jacks are valued at ten and cards from two to nine are valued at their number value. The dealer deals each player two cards and depending on their combined value the player can ask for another card or stay with what they have. If either the dealer or the player reaches the number twenty one they win the round.
